The international experience spent from 30/8 to 3/9 at #basketballweelchairs Tournament in Limassol (Cyprus) 3×3 ended, with an unexpected result: 2nd place at the first international wheelchair basketball trophy for Aps Asd Margherita Sport e Vita.
Thanks to the precious collaboration with ASD Lupiae Team Salento of President Gianni Landi, for the first time ever, the team composed of Andrea Coi, Gigi Guarascio, Giuseppe Dario Longo and Quintino De Nuccio, with Piergiorgio Fiorentino Assistant Coach, achieved second place in the Poule qualification, despite the two defeats with #Portugal and #Cyprus but outclassing the good #Poland team with a score of 8-0.
Thanks to the best basket difference of the tournament, in the semifinal we will win against the home team of #Cyprus in overtime with a crazy shoot by the guard Quintino de Nuccio; in the final the Portuguese team will win against our “heroes” with the score of 8-3 having two authentic champions who also participated in the Serie A in Italy, so Chapeu!
The event was realized by Cyprus 3X3 has inserted this tournament, in a great national event of 3×3 thanks to the participation of over 200 athletes between male, female and under 13 to 17 teams were played in a beautiful setting on the sea, but quite conditioned by the atmospheric factors with a temperature with peaks of up to 36 *.
This is, together with the many other experiences lived in the European projects, the one that has marked #msvbasket experience, having shared the difficulties and human values of 4 fantastic “special” athletes to whom I am truly grateful.
